Disappointed designer deletes tweet of Apple purchase after receiving just single FavoriteOctober 30, 2015
In a wholly unsurprising turn of events, San Francisco based designer Joey Marshall has deleted his tweet containing a screenshot of a recent purchase from Apple after it received only one Favorite in three hours.
“Yikes. This isn’t the Twitter I used to know.” Marshall told us, “once upon a time, a screenshot of the receipt for your brand new iPhone meant at least six faves. Even on a bad day you could still expect at least, like, three or four.”
Alongside new features such as 3DTouch display, Live Photos, and impressive battery improvements, one of Marshall’s main incentives for purchasing the phone was the screenshot tweet he’d get to send out and the many Favorites undoubtedly to follow.
Unfortunately, that was not the case. After twelves minutes the tweet did receive it’s first Favorite, from Joey’s former colleague Omar, teasing the possibility of success. However in Marshall’s words, Omar is ‘always a surefire fave’, and it has been two and a half hours since then, with no one else seeming to care.
Hoping that his tech loving followers would lap up the tweet, dishing Favorites at him like it was nothing, Marhsall was left hurt, angry, and despondant. Eventually he made the decision to delete the tweet.
“What tweet? Oh. No,” Marshall laughed, “I only posted that as a joke anyway.”
